My rotary phone

As some of you know, I moved a few months ago (into my friend Matt's apartment*, when he left.) My cell phone doesn't work in this new place, which was kind of nice for a while, since I hate talking on the phone. But I started missing important calls. Interviews for stories. Texts from boys. Not good. I finally got a land line yesterday, and it gave me the perfect opportunity to actually use the old rotary phone I grew up using. It's been kicking around my apartment for a while as useless decoration. Now it's my lifeline to the world! It takes me like five minutes to dial out, but it makes the best sound, that dial, that unmistakable sound.

I still need shelves above my desk. They're coming soon. Until then, here's the new phone and the chaos of an awkward stack plus internet/stereo/computer cords. (Note I'm listening to 93.9, WNYC. You'd think once I left work...) I don't mind cords, but it's getting a little out of hand. You should see under my desk. It's like swimming in a weedy lake.

Where did the week go? I'll post more of Wayman soon...

*Thanks to Matt, I converted to an "under" person, see above link, and I'm not turning back.
